about

This blog is about crafting. Knitting. Concerts and music. (I'm pretty much the biggest metal-head you'll ever meet.) Sometimes scooters, and more specifically, Vespas. Also a little bit of mom/kiddo stuff thrown in, because ... that's my life.

I am a graphic designer, a knitter, a blogger and a maker. By day, I am a stay-at-home mom and at night, I knit and do freelance graphic design. My hands and my brain always have to be busy. I have been making things ever since I can remember. I scrapbooked photos and memorabilia when I was in school, and spent hours in my room drawing and painting. I went to college to study fine art and graphic design and made a career out of making things look pretty. When Etsy came along, I opened up shop and dabbled in all kinds of things that I could make and share with others. (You can find my Etsy shop here.) These days, I'm making things to sell at craft fairs like Market Day, Craft Saturday and Renegade Craft Fair. And passing down the love of knitting by teaching knitting classes.

I'm always looking to architecture, graphic design, typography and music for inspiration. I'm a huge fan of heavy metal and punk rock and alt rock. I look to colorful fabric, mid-century modern furniture, and lots of blogs, magazines and mail-order catalogs for ideas that may spark something new. I am truly an A.D.D. crafter, so I'm pretty much all over the place.

(But that totally makes me happy.)
