I'm currently suffering from a case of knitting paralysis. I have a million things I want to knit, but I can't get started or commit. I'm not going to tell you how many projects I have saved in my Ravelry queue. I'm not going to tell you about the yarn I bought months ago, set aside for specific projects that I haven't touched. It's weird; I knitted a zillion cowls for other people over the past few months, but now that I have time to take a break, I don't know what to do!
Luckily, ringing in the new year (teamed up with crazy pregnancy nesting obsessions) has a funny way of kicking me in the butt and making me want to accomplish things. I feel like I should start with a couple of baby things, since baby time is getting so close. And I recently realized how sad it is that my baby-to-be owns zero winter hats. That's just wrong. I am a knitter. So, here is a list of a few projects I've been dying to knit. Maybe this will be the kick in the ass I need to make a decision. I'm going to start working on something tonight. I swear.

loving that norweigan cap! i'm not normally a fingering-weight knitter, but i've got some in my stash right now so i might just have to pull it out to make one or two of these!
I was not feeling the knitting post-holidays after I failed to finish a pair of socks for my father-in-law but then I decided to knit myself a hat with yarn I LOVE and it was just the thing. I forgot that hats are super fast. And a baby hat even faster. I'd say pick your favorite yarn and go from there.
good advice! I think it will be a baby hat + baby mitts FTW. :)
ahhh I JUST finished the Chevron baby blanket, it is a super fast and fun knit. I swear I am the same way, though. I have knit/crochet a lot for others and when it comes to myself I'm all "....wah what do I do now" ha. also I think we are friends on ravelry I'm bloodloss :)
yes yes yes, hi bloodloss! I just checked out your chevron blanket and it's AWESOME. love the colors you used. I bought yarn to make one and you're inspiring me to give it a go...
Ahhh thanks Jen! I'm sure your blanket is going to be super badass like yourself ;)
I know how you feel! I have so many projects on the go, but I'm really only motivated to finish one... ha! I'm working on a chevron blanket right now, "Olive's Afghan" on Ravelry. Planned on having it for the new babe.. and that is not going to happen. But I *will* finish. I resolve to. ;)
Thanks for the links, always love a little knit-inspiration. That hat is adorable! Hope you're feeling good!

that striped hat is darling!
I'm having a hard time knitting post-holiday as well...I want to finish my WIPs before I start anything new but I also want to do something for *me.* So, like every other time when I can't make a decision, I do nothing at all.
awk!! Those all look awesome! How are you? How was your holidays? Email me!!!
It's so easy to start new projects the hard part is finishing them. I know someone who put one of her projects in each of her dinning room chairs so it was always in her face. She finished them with-in the month. You can try that method and then have a rule: only one project is allowed to be casted on at a time! Good luck!
I get like this every single time I finish a project. I never know what to make next- It's ridiculous!
Baby projects sound fun. They all look so lovely. [:
