So, like many of you, I have been perusing Anthro's new looks for fall '10. And I stopped in my tracks when I saw
this particular photo. Dude. A knitted/braided headwrap.
And then, as I was skimming through my Google Reader, I happened upon more braidy wonders at one of my favorite blogs,
Knight Cat.
And, so you
know I immediately thought 'I need to knit something like that.' And so I experimented with cables and braiding and what-not.
And came up with this pattern, which you can download for free ...

I just stumbled onto your blog and it's sooo funny- I literally just made this about a week ago! Fell in love with it on Anthropologie's site. Mine turned out too stretchy though, so I'm going to have to shrink it in the wash I think.
so glad I found this! I was just posting about the wrap and trying to "wrap" my head around how to make it. Putting this on my to-do list now!!
Cable pattern is to repeated 4 times. Is that Row 1, repeated 4 times or do Rows 1-12, then repeat them 4 times?

Hi there! I'm loving this head wrap, but I have major issues with knitting the old fashioned way. Do you have any suggestions on converting this pattern to a loom? I'm sure thats considered cheating, but I'm just horrible with trying to handle 2 needles!
hi Beth! so sorry, but I have very limited experience with loom knitting, and I have no idea how to do cables on a loom. wish I could help!!

Beth, go to youtube, search cable stitch loom and u should be ok. That or wait till i upload my lokm-knit cable headband like this LOL
