Welcome to Metal Monday: a weekly series (starting today) where I'll be unearthing concert t-shirts from the past out of my closet to share with the universe. Some t-shirts have fascinating stories behind them ... and some do not. (Are ... you ...
ready?)

Megadeth. This t-shirt is like an old friend, circa 1993. I wore it during high school, when I listened to Symphony of Destruction, Sweating Bullets and Foreclosure of a Dream every day. When I was a sophomore, I wore this shirt to church camp while cleaning up a park in Des Moines after the floods of '93 ... and was told that it was inappropriate for church camp.
(Happy Metal Monday! More next week!)
I'm going to have to step up my game for Lazerfest. You rock JmasterG!
ReplyDeleteJ Master Geigs! You crack me up!
ReplyDeletefabulous!!!!!!! love the church camp memory:) I remember wearing NIN t-shirt to my grandmas house back in the day and it said something like 'now I am nothing' on the front. My poor grandma took it literally and sat me down about the importance of self-esteem:)
ReplyDeleteI love Metal Monday!!!!!!!

ReplyDeletei love you so much.

love and love and more love!
(i have a bunch of rock and roll shirts that i wear still- like ACDC and KISS and The WHO and LED ZEP... haha. from high school too)

{Megadeath was my very first concert ever!lol}
Ha! Your church camp story made me laugh out loud.
ReplyDeleteHahaha. Oh my gosh, I love you.
ReplyDeleteWow.. very cool!!
ReplyDeleteYou are awesome. I made my mom cry once when I came home with a "Creatures" (formerly Siouxsie and the Banshees) tee. I tried to remind her that at least it wasn't black, my color of choice at the time. Didn't help. I'm pretty sure she's over it now, but the nose ring was the next tear-jerker.
ReplyDeleteI saw Megadeath sometime in 99 or 2000. It was at Mancow's Lazer Luau. It was kinda lame.
ReplyDelete-Jordan
HA Jordan ... I was there, too.
ReplyDeleteI love this new series!! I have a bunch of concert tees, only they're punk rock! And if they could talk... ahh! Great idea, Jen!

ReplyDeletethis post conjured memories of sitting in my room listening to "in my darkest hour" over and over again on my pink sony cassette player, thanks:)
ReplyDeletedid you have the shocker soundtrack? megadeth covered "no more mr. nice guy."
Hey Jen! I first "met" you on SIS and came visiting your blog now and then, but now since Sis is closing, you might see me here more often... my bloglist seems endless so I'm very picky about the people I add but YOU are one of them!
ReplyDeleteWhat's the guys name from Megadeth.. Dave? Anyway, my step mothers niece is dating him... and she lives here in Iowa! I guess he is trying to get her to move to CA... ANYWAY, small world-in a totally not so related way!
ReplyDeleteYou are to fun:) Love how you took photos in different phases of your head banging, lol.
ReplyDeleteMetal Mondays are gonna be fun, I can just sense it, hehe.

ReplyDeleteI like it when you flip you hair all about, reminds me of our Chicago model shot on Matty's balcony... Say it! Sa-lon...
