folded notes + love notes, junior-high style

So, I took this pic for the love notes series on Smile and Wave. Remember folding notes like this in 7th grade? I know you all had (or have!) a shoebox of these in your closet. Do you remember how to fold them? Can't quite get it? Never fear – here's a little V-day love note pictorial tutorial to jog your memory.

Version 1:

Version 2:

Hide a special note for someone you're crushing on today, or pack one of these in your kids' lunch box. Try it now ... just for fun. :)

  1. Aww..I still have some of my old notes. I had a shoebox full but threw most of them out during college, choosing to keep "the best" ones (and now I wish I'd kept them all).

These were the same two ways we usually folded notes. I wonder if everyone else did too?

  19. Like a coodie catcher, only better, without foul words and sayings in it (that the teacher finds in your desk and you get sent to principal's office for...)

  26. Thanks for taking the time to show us how to fold these notes. I have not folded one since middle school. I just used the technique to fold my note to my wife for our 21 wedding anniversary. BTW - she's the same person I folded them to in middle school 30+ years ago.

  41. Thanks for bringing back those memories. Those folded notes were mostly a girl thing, but my best bud back in jr. high had all kinds of girls writing him love notes neatly folded like that…*and* sprayed with some sweet-smelling perfume.

I've linked to you on my blog - you may find this post interesting: http://www.leftylimbo.com/2013/11/pee-chee-folder-art-hall-metal-gods/
